Unfortunately we are still seeing candles being lit directly on the Cross of Sacrifice. The wax is now causing extensive damage to the Cross, which is a war memorial. Although we appreciate cemetery visitors want to use the Cross as a site of remembrance, this should not result in damage to the Cross.
Could any of our visitors wishing to light candles please refrain or place the candle on a plate to protect the Cross. Thank you for your cooperation!
